    This land was invaded so Japan could have another place to do warfare testing. This was not good for Australia because it meant Japan was expanding.

    Japan was targeting Australia over this period. The League of Nations would have held them accountable but now they could do what they wanted.

    Singapore which is just above the coast of Australia was under heavy fire and bombing. Australia had to send troops to counter attack but thias did not work as well as Britain and Australia having to surrender.

    This caused the end of the war. The US dropping atomic bombs caused Japan to surrender and therefore ended the war.

    The space race was a huge part of the modern world and it was a bit of a contest to see who could land on the moon first. All the super powers were involved in this race.

    This event has shaped the laws we have today on Asylum seekers and is involving other parts of the world. This allowed a bill to be passed to allow us to remove unwanted boats from our waters.

    This was significant because it was the start of the war against Afganhistan and Iraq. It was considered a huge terrorist threat and many lives were lost.
