Anne's Birthday
Today is Sunday the 12th. Anne Franks birthday, She is very excited to open her birthday presents from her family and friends. Her most cherished gift if the one from her parents, her new diary. -
First Time Writing in Journal
Two days after Anne got her beautiful new diary she begins telling stories of her life. She starts with telling the diary (which she calls kitty) all about her birthday and what a fun time she had. -
Anne Begins To Write About The War
It's Wednesday, Anne is upset because she has so go to school but it is so hot outside she can barely stand it. She tells about the Jews not being able to ride in cars or trams and they just have to walk everywhere because someone had stollen her bike during the Easter Holiday and her Daddy had given her Mummy's to a Christian family for safe keeping. -
Anne Goes Out With Her First Boyfriend
Anne has been walking home from schoo with a boy named Harry. Their relationship didn't start well because Harry's grandparents thought that Anne was too young for him, but he didn't care and they went out for ice cream anyway. -
Mentioning Going Into Hiding
It's Sunday morning and Anne writes about how her father has been staying home from work, which isn't usual for him, and how he keeps talking to mother about going into hiding. -
Going Into Hiding
Annes mother invites the Van Daan family over and they all decide together that they are going to go into hiding today because the police are going around everyones houses and take bicycles, and they were afraid that they might get sent away. The Frank family puts on as many pieces of clothing as possible because if they were carrying suit cases around they would be stopped by the police. After they get on as many clohtes as possible they walk to Otto Franks office building. -
The Setup
Anne describes in her writing how the setup of the Secret Annexe is, and how they have to crawl through a crawl space to get into it and then Mr. Kraler has to go behind them and put the door that is de....... as a bookshelf so no one can see the crawl space. -
The Van Daans
The Franks were shocked to find out that the Van Daans are going into hiding with them today, they were told that the Van Daans wouldn't be arriving until tomorrow and they were not prepared for their arrival. -
Quarrelling
Today is Wednesday and the Franks and the Van Daans have both been in hiding for a while now. Both families are still trying to get used to living with each other but its a struggle for Anne because Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan have terrific quarrels quite often and she is not used to it because her parents never shout at each other. -
Peter
Peter is Mr. and Mrs. Van Daans only child, he is the same age as Anne but they are not getting along. Anne is very displeased with Peter because she says he is very unpleasant. -
Break
Anne has been taking a break fro her school work since they went into hiding. She is still in form one and her sister Margot is is form six, she wants to be in the same form as Margot but Anne is struggling to with her algebra. -
Otto
Things are starting to go downhill, Otto is very sick and they cannot take him to a doctor or get medicine for him. He has a high temperature and a rash, and they thing he has the measles. -
The British
It is Peter's birhtday he turned 16. That night he opened presents and got some lovely things, but the big news is that Algiers has fallen, Morroscco, Casablanca, and Oran have been in British hands for several days, now they are waiting for Tunis. Anne called it "the beginning of the end" -
Albert Dussel
Dussel has arrived. He is a jewish dentist and he only has a wife, luckily she was out of the country when the war broke out so she is somewhere safe, but for Mr. Dussel things are different. The polive shut down his business and he was scared for his life so he decided he should go into hiding. He met with Mr. Kraler and before they knew it he was living in the Secret Annexe. -
Money
Anne writes about how when her father was little his parents were very very wealthy and he was supposed to enherate all of his parents money when they died, but when his father died all of the money was lost during the first World War -
Birthdays
It is Ottos birthday and Otto and Ediths 19th anniversary. -
Rome Is Liberated
Allied troops liberate Rome. Within six weeks, Anglo-American bombers could hit targets in eastern Germany for the first time. -

She writes about how upset she is when she writes the last one. -

Battle Of The Bulge
The Germans launch a final offensive in the west, known as the Battle of the Bulge, in an attempt to re-conquer Belgium and split the Allied forces along the German border. By January 1, 1945, the Germans are in retreat. -
Annes last day
Anne died in the concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen.
