    WW1 ends as Britain, France and the U.S feircely overwhelm the German Army and bring them to a halt. Germany is left wounded, humiliated and in a hostile condition.
  • League of Nations is Founded

    League of Nations is Founded
    The League of Nations is founded shortly after the idea of it was proposed by Woodrow Wilson (U.S president of the time). The League's purpose is to create a forum for any future disputes to be discussed and brought to a resolution. It is centred in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • The Treaty of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles is signed in Versailles, Paris. In attendance at the time were the three most important politicians of the event; David Lloyd George (British prime Minister), George Clemenceau (French Prime Minister) and Woodrow Wilson (U.S President). The purpose of the treaty is to punish Germany for thier acts in WW1 and at the same time prevent future wars.

    By early 1921 Hitler was beginning to grow more notorious throughout Germany. He was soon made the leader of the Nazi party, it was around this time that he also began attracting the attention of many polititions outside of Germany.

    Hitlers Beer Hall Putsch
    The Beer Hall Putsch was Hitler's first major attempt to take over government in Bavaria. Hitler's motives were his strong need for power under the Nazi party and immense hatred towards the Treaty of Versailles. The event consisted of 2000 men marching into the centre of Munich in protest. In the end 16 Nazis and 4 policemen were killed as well as hitler being arrested and sentenced to a year in prison. This event spread Nazi ideology and made Hitler very known throughout Europoe.
  • Mein Kampf Published

    Mein Kampf Published
    As Hitler sat in his prison cell under the crime of treason (as a result of the Beer Hall Putsch) he expressed his ideology, philosophy, tales of his youth and dreams of a future world lead by the Nazis to his friend Rudolf Hess, who took the information and wrote Mein Kampf. Mein Kampf, which translates as My struggle was published in 1925 it sold poorly. However when Hitler became Chancellor of Germany the book sold millions of copies and widespread his view and plans of the world.

    Wall Street Crash
    Also known as Black Tuesday or The Great Crash, this event was the most devastating stock market crash in U.S history. Its main cause was the roaring tweinties, a period of time after WW1 of post-war optimism as well as over valued stocks and a lack of foreign investors. The crash left hundreds of thousands of families broke, on all levels of society.

    Hitler Appointed Chancellor of Germany
    On this day, Hitler was given the position of Chancellor of Germany. His position of power was given by the peoples desperate need for economic redemtion, and a way out of the dismal times caused by the Treaty of Versailles and the wounds of WW1.

    Hitler's Enabling Act
    Hitler's Enabling Act was proposed to the German Government to rid the coutry of democracy and give Hitler complete dictatorial control over Germany. Before the vote, Hitler promised to end unemployment and even make peace between Germany and france, Great Britain and the Soviet Union. He claimed that in order to meet this, the Enabling act must be passed.

    Hitler Violates Treaty of Versailles
    On this day Germany first violated the Treaty of Versailles in a major way by introducing conscription and planning to create an army of nearly half a million men. It was also revealed that they were devising plans for a new air force. This all began to create extremely hostile situations between Germany and the three major countries who had signed the treaty.
