    Following the war, the Proclamation was established by the parliament. It was the border that separated colonist from natives in order to control war debt, this angered the colonist. The Appalachian mountains were the physical border. The border was created to avoid war between colonist and Indians. More war would create debt and this is what the British were trying to avoid.

    In 1750 the French and British fought over the Ohio Valley River land.George Washington was sent by Dinwiddie to attack the French. He took the French land and the French and Indian war started. The war ignited the American Revolution.

    After the war the British were struggling to pay off debts. There solution was to tax colonist. The three cent sugar act was born, The colonist hated the idea. They wanted representation in the parliament, the Colonist petitioned for it.the sugar act was the first in a series of taxes on the colonist.

    The stamp act was a time when the British needed money . They put stamps on important documents including court documents, mail, and even playing cards. The stamps showed that the tax was payed. The picture below shows how the colonist felt about the stamps.

    The townshend acts were a form of rebellion and they were a series of acts. They included boycotts where people stopped supporting taxed items by not buying incoming goods. This was how the colonist chose to resist what the British were doing.

    The colonist insulted and threatened soldiers . They threw snowballs and dared the British soldiers to shoot. When dared to shoot the soldiers thought it was a command from there officer. One soldier shot, then seven other soldiers shot.The image below shows the colonist perspective on the situation.

    There were four parts to the intolerable acts. The first part was that soldiers would be sent back to England to be tried so that the sentencing would be "fair". There was also the quartering acts that forced Colonist to house and feed soldiers. Colonist were also no longer allowed to have their own self government. This was something the colonist were very angry about because they had no representation in any government. Possibly the worst part, the Boston harbor was closed.

    The committees of correspondence were a organised group of people who kept people updated on ways the were resisting. The committees was organized and led by the Patriot Leaders. The groups purpose was to inform other colonies of a common threat. They were formed to solve problems and once they were solved the committees disbanded.

    Delegats from twelve colonies met up for the first continental congress. They were there to discuss the current crisis and express their outrage. This was significant because it was the first time everyone met together to calmly work out the issues.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    With orders from the king the British army was sent to confiscate colonist weapons. Paul Revere and others were sent to warn the colonist. The british army then ran into 60 poorly armed and trained militia men along with enslaved and free African Americans.They were lined up to fight against the red coats. 8 colonist died and 10 were injured.

    The Boston Tea Act/ The Boston Tea Party
    One night a group of grown men secretively slipped into the wharf. They did not want to seem suspicious, so they staggered in and then they dumped the tea into the harbor. They dumped 342 crates of tea into the harbor. They took time to sweep the boats to make sure they made the point that they were angry about the tea.
