  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    In 1750, a feud began between the French and the British. They fought for the Ohio River Valley.George Washington and Governor Dinwiddie attended this war. In this war, the British wanted to gain land, but the French wouldn't just give it, so what did they do? They Fought back. The French won the first part of this war, only because George Washington decided to make a fort called Fort Necessity.The British won the war and went into debt. Since they went in debt, they started taxing the colonists
  • The Proclamation Line of 1763

    The Proclamation Line of 1763
    after the French and Indian war,the British created a border line on the appellation mountains to separate the colonists from the newly won territory because the Natives could possibly attack the colonists. The British are trying not to cause another war because they couldn't even pay for their last war.
  • The Sugar Act

    a tax put on sugar to pay off the last war. The British made this tax to show power and for money. The British decided that they would start putting taxes on the colonists everyday items to gain more and more money. Most of the colonists weren't mad that they had to pay 3 cents, but they were mad because they had no say in Parliament.

    The stamp act was a tax put on everything mailed also to show power and for money to pay of the war. Also most of the colonists weren't mad about tax, but they were mad because they had taxation without representation and no say in Parliament.
  • Townshend Act

    Placed tax on items important to the colonists like paper, glass, paint, and tea. Many of the colonists protested. Most of the colonists decided to boycott buying items and they also started to steal items, break items, and also they stopped using the docks and other ways for the ships to carry in more supplies. The colonists started to create farms and other items to survive with their own resources.

    Colonists started throwing items like clam shells and ice. These colonists were aggravating these soldiers and made the soldiers confused by yelling out shoot. Colonist yelled shoot and then the British shot the group of colonists and some of the colonist died. There was a flyer showing that the British started the Warfare.

    A communication of colonies also related to the sons of liberty, and the daughters of liberty. This also gives the colonists and upper hand against the British.Sam Adams, the leader of the sons of liberty, also helped when it came to a sudden need for help.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    An act to help the East India Company sell tea. 60 colonists boarded the ship full of tea and started throwing tea off of the ship. These colonists dressed up as Mohawk Indians. The total amount of tea that was thrown off was 342 crates full of tea. They actually cleaned up the ship when they were finished. The result of this was that the British got mad and decided to create another Act to make them pay even more tax.

    The British closed the Boston Harbor, and people lost their jobs, and also people had a lack of supplies. When the people had a trial, the British soldiers were sent back to Britain as if they were getting a fair trial. The colonists would be considered guilty while the British would be non guilty
  • The First Continental Congress

    George Washington, Sam Adams, John Adams, John Jay, and Patrick Henry, all attended this congress. They all made a petition saying that they were still loyal to the king. Also this was the first form of self government among all the colonies.
  • The Battles Of Lexington And Concord

    The Battles Of Lexington And Concord
    Militiamen going against the British and heavily out numbered. A few colonists died, some injured. On the second time going against the British, they won because they used GUERRILLA WARFARE. Many more colonists attended this war and the colonists won and left many of the British wounded and also dead. This was the first war leading to the Revolutionary War!(Not Exiting)
