    The fall of Constantinople

    The Ottoman was a powerful empire and they took control over Constantinople in 1453. The fall of Constantinople showed how much strength the Ottoman empire had.
  • 1496

    The Spanish colonizing Africa

    The spanish colonized many places in Africa. There are now some Spanish cities in Africa, even though africa is not under spanish rule anymore.
  • 1500

    The Portuguese empire searching for Gold

    The Portuguese began their empire by looking for gold in Africa. They then kept colonizing and looking for land and wealth.
  • 1519

    Import of Turkeys in Colombian exchange

    In the Colombian Exchange turkeys were imported from America to spain. Turkeys became a vital food source for people all around the world.
  • The treaty of Paris

    The French and British were at war for 7 years. There was a treaty called the treaty of Paris which ended this 7 year war, this left the British being dominant in Canada.
  • The Russian Empire's annexation of Ukraine

    In the 18th century Russia took over Ukraine. The reasons for this anexation were that Russia wanted fertile agricultural land which Ukraine had. This helped feed the empire.

    Karl Marx and Engels wrote a manifesto that outlined the communist party.

    There was much discrimination amongst the sepoy soldiers who were Muslim or Hindu, people were angry about racist regulations and disrespect that was put on them.

    The Suez canal was a canal in Egypt that cut the trip to the Indian ocean in half from europe.

    The Qing empire was a strong government and the British King George the 3rd wanted to open more trading ports in china but the Qing emperors denied his request.

    There was rising ideas of social progress in the 1900s. Genocide became common. Genocide is a mass killing of a group of people. Hitler created mass genocide.

    Qings dynasty faced defeats against places like Britain and Japan, there was also issues like natural disasters and famine.

    Art was used to make people join the war. There were posters for the war. Artists were sent to the battlefield to sketch the war.

    There were many wars fought in the middle east most of them had to do with oil.

    Many mexican revolutionaries disagreed about their revolutions. This was because the revolution was actually two revolutions.

    China was under foreign control because they borrowed money from foreign banks which caused the xinhai revolution.

    Some of the causes of World War 1 were: Nationalist passions, greed amongst empires, and corrupt relations between countries

    There was a global economic recession many businesses slowed and oil companies made way less money.

    The first revolution against Batista was unsuccessful and the second one Fidel Castro attacked cuban government and was successful.

    The FLN was a political party in Algeria trying to gain them independence.

    The chinese launched an economic plan called the great leap forward.

    This plan was enforced to improve agriculture, industry, science and defense.
