    Columbus Finds America
    Columbus got funds from the Spanish throne, Queen Isabella, to go on his journey. He landed in the Bahamas and later searched throughout the Americas
  • 13 Original Colonies

    13 Original Colonies
    The colonies were settled in three main regions, with three main purposes. The New England colonies were settled for religious reasons, the Middle colonies were known for having diversity and was nicknamed "the breadbasket" and Colonial South was settled for profit gain.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The cause of the French and Indian War was two main happenings; first, both the British and the French claimed land between the Appalachin Mountains and the Mississippi River, the second reason was that the French were afraid of anti-Catholic influence, while the Bitish were afraid of papal power. During the war the British fought in the old style of straight lines, while the French, with help from Native American tribes hid in their fighting. The British ended up winning the war.

    To help pay for the French and Indian war, British taxed colonist. The Colonist were bery angry about these taxes. When their precious tea was taxed that was too much. Many colonists dressed up and boarded a ship dumping all of the tea into the Boston Harbor.

    The Colonists were ready to break away from Brithis control. Although British seemed to be far ahead at the beginning, the balttle of Saratoga changed the war forecast. French entered giving money, supplies, and soldiers to the Colonists.
  • Writing of the Constitution

    Writing of the Constitution
    Representatives from each state gathered in the Constitutional Convention to reform the government. However, the ended up writing a completely knew constitution. Our constitution helps to explain the rights to the people and shares the seperation of power in the government.
  • Lewis and Clark Expedition

    Lewis and Clark Expedition
    President Jeferson assigned Lewis to observe, record, and gain geographical knowledge about the western America. Lewis and his friend Clark set off. They were able to strengthen their claims to western areas, have peaceful encounters with Native Americans, create good maps and traveling routes, and make new animal and plant discoveries.
  • Missouri Compromise

    Missouri Compromise
    This act helped to seperate territory which allowed equal slave and free states in the Union. Senator Henry Clay presented the idea, which stated that there would be no slavery above 36° 30', excluding Missouri.
  • Bleeding Kansas

    Bleeding Kansas
    The Kansas-Nebraska Act was passed by Franklin Pierce stating that slavery in a state could be determined by polylar sovereignty. Missouri, a slave state, paniced and rushed into Kansas to pursuade the votes in Kansas. This lead to many fights and protests. Many people were killed.

    Many Americans believed in Manifest Destiny. Steamboats, locomotive, interchangeable parts, cotton gin, and telegraphs were introduced to the American way of life.
