    She helped other slaves escape and it was a very hard and dangerous thing to do. It was dangerous because if she got caught then the white police would kill them and Harriet Tubman.

    Fugitive Slave Act is many different groups of laws. With this slave act California was the first state to be a free state. If a salve escaped the law required for if people had found them, then they would have to return them to their owner.

    The United States separated in half between the North and the South. The reason for there splitting was because the South wanted to have slaves, but the north was against to and did not want slaves.
