    In the United Nations, the countries involved where the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It was designed to prevent wars and make it so countries could talk their problems out. It is in New York City and was created Oct. 24, 1945. The United nations is important to history because it actually may have prevented a war. The United Nations impacted politics because then, leaders from around the world and talk about problems without going to war.

    Jackie Robinson
    Jackie Robinson played on the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was the the second baseman. He later went on to become the first African American to play in Major League Baseball. Jackie started playing for the the Brooklyn Dodgers. Him being the first African American to play was hard but he did it. This impacted history because it was a big step for African Americans. This impacted society because the African Americans had another on the playing field and it was watched on TV.
  • Nato/ Warsaw Pact

    Nato/ Warsaw Pact
    Counties involved in the Nato/Warsaw Pact was pretty much all of East Europe, mostly under Soviet rule. It was made to be a treaty between all of the countries saying if the Republicans were to attack them, they would all stick together. It was created in Moscow Russia, on May 14, 1955. The Warsaw Pact is important to history because it may have prevented a WW3 from breaking out. It affected Politics because it made the tension rise and made them be at a stalemate.

    Apollo 11 brought Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to the moon letting them be the first people on the moon. Apollo 11 was launched from the Kennedy Space center and landed on the moon. This was important to history because it was "One small step for man and one giant leap for mankind". This impacted society because people were where proud of the USA and we got to rub it in all the other countries faces.

    John, his wife, and the governor of Texas were riding in a car in Texas when JFK was shot and murdered. Some say the Lee Harvey Oswald killed him. It happened in Dallas Texas on Nov, 22, 1963. It is important to history because he was the president and he died in public. JFK's assassination had social impact because now people are WAY more careful with the president around people and I'm sure people where sad.

    Gerald became the 38th president of the United States after Richard Nixon resigned. He was the first president to become president due to the 25th amendment saying if the president is no longer able to be president, the vice president is president. He was president from 1974-1977. It impacted history because he was the first president to become president under such circumstances. He impacted politics because now he was president.

    Ronald Reagan was elected as the 40th president of the United States. Ronald was a Republic president and one reason he is known is that he ended the Cold war. His inauguration was on the West Front of the Capital on January 20, 1981. This was important to history because he ended the Cold War and was the 40th president. Ronald Reagan impacted politics because he was the president and him ending the Cold War was a relief socially and economically.

    MLK was a African american rights advocate who was shot and killed by James Earl Ray on April 23, 1998. He was talking to a group and James just shot him in Memphis TN. It was important to history because he was very well known and he was an important activist. It impacted society because he spoke out against discrimination and he was shot in public which made a lot of people mad and/or sad.

    Obama was the democratic party for the election of 2008. Obama was elected against John McCain the first time and Mitt Romney the 2nd winning both times. His inauguration took place at the capital on January, 20, 2009. Obama was the 1st African American president. This impacted politics because he was now the president and he was the 1st African American president.
