  • 2.1 Genetic Limits

To increase telomeres and prevent replicative senescence I would research into removing DNA sequences, at birth, that include telomeres and developing a way to freeze them without damaging them for future use. By doing so, the possibility as one ages to release them back into the body to replicate and allow an extended maximum life-span. Whether the placenta is a viable organ to attempt with or drawing blood, would have to be further researched and tested.
  • 4.4 Childhood Attachment Experiences

    4.4 Childhood Attachment Experiences
The results of secured and low anxiety stem from my Dad always providing a safe haven and a secure base growing up. I didn't have need for anxiety or being avoidant because I was protected by my Dad's affection. It came to light when my parents divorced and it being a difficult time thus him being a first time single-father to a girl entering her teen years. Even through horrific events, I was always talked through the anxiety and emotions to reach a secured appropriate level.
  • 1.1 The Beginning

    1.1 The Beginning
After having experienced non-normative changes of moving across the country and starting public high-school (from being home-schooled) changed my perspective on life. Having to start over again and a father who travels constantly, I spent months at a time ensuring I was completing household chores, going to school etc. Realizing that these responsibilities and their importance led to understanding and the transition into adulthood.
  • 7.2 Transitions

From integrated to self-trascendent by near-death experience sparked this transition. Meditation was suggested by the psychologist to assist with PTSD symptoms. It was a time that I was lost in my own mind and it was clashing with reality. By using meditation, I was able to use breathing methods to filter my thoughts and gain understanding of the reality around me.
  • 2.1 Oxidative Damage

    2.1 Oxidative Damage
If I created a solution to prolong life/prevent aging I would find a way to increase antioxidants based on super-foods. I would use previous studies to develop research that would lead to developing a food group or alter a current one to fit the ideal. Creating foods that can assist fighting against free radicals would allow the body to continuing to resist and repair. I picked the date for the 20's because the average person is healthy and can take control of their eating habits.
  • 7.3 Major Life Event

    7.3 Major Life Event
I decided to quit my 2 year long positon with Residence Life, move off campus and begin working for Student Accounts all within a few days. I used meaning-focused coping based on telling myself that living off campus will be better for my health, my happiness and comfort. Through work, that I would tell myself this is a good thing to experience something new and build my customer service skills. This has worked wonderfully and I've been a lot happier with these decisions.
  • 4.1 Young Adult Role Transition

    4.1 Young Adult Role Transition
I moved into my first apartment, away from home and campus. This is atypical for Gallaudet since most reside on campus. The transition of signing a lease and sharing responsibility/new responsibilities will arise. The biggest challenge will come with financial responsibility and budgeting. It will take time and careful planning when it comes to spending money.
  • 2.3 My current healthy lifestyle

    2.3 My current healthy lifestyle
Based on my healthy lifestyle, I answered yes to avoiding junk food, physical actvitiy, smoking and alcohol. Food is a hard response for me because I never maintain a solid schedule and often skip meals. The reason for that is a long one but currently I have been suffering from a severe stomach ulcer that has required me to arguably change my diet. This is something I wish to improve in the future and map out time to sit down and eat a proper meal that fits my body type.
  • 4.3 Adult Attachment Style

My results for the quiz was low anxiety and secure. As an adult, this can be beneficial for my romantic relationships going forward. For children, would allow me to be reserved and provide trust. From a negative standpoint, anxiety is not always a bad thing. It can show that you care or have worries about things wereas in return some will need more confirmation. Growing up with my Dad giving me the affection necessary, I also learned how to be the one who holds our family together.
  • 6.3 Intimacy versus Isolation

    6.3 Intimacy versus Isolation
Within Erikson's stages and being 22 years old, I cannot fathom to make the decision of marrying someone. Especially based on their involvement in the military maybe having seemed the best choice for themselves and the pressures of society at the time. I would struggle with knowing, was it genuine love or infatuation? Seeking out the comfort and care of another individual is within us but doing so and having 8 kids is difficult to imagine.
  • 7.1 Fowler

    7.1 Fowler
Fowler's stage of synthetic conventional faith is best fit to my current master story. As a child, my family was one of the biggest and oldest families at our Roman Catholic Church. I was expected to follow all rules and what God would have wanted for me. After going to college, my faith has slipped and I've wondered if I should start going back. There is a moment of relief in the church setting that I feel safe and my thoughts are between myself and God.
  • 6.1 My RIASEC type

    6.1 My RIASEC type
My top three types of personality traits are investigative, conventional and social. Conventional and social were a close race. ONET responded with the best job match as a nurse even though I seek to be school psychologist. Under their descrition both investigative and social are a match. I feel all three of these fit based on expectications I have for my future career more so of social over conventional.
  • 6.2 Super’s Stages

    6.2 Super’s Stages
Super's stage of establishment applies to school psychology at this time due to continuing to increase self-understanding. This can be applied from recognizing my own bias, organization, limitations, and the overall aspect of learning about mself. The continous growth within myself over the first year of understanding the system, that school's culture, fac/staff etc. can develop my work ethic and understanding of the environment.
  • 4.2- Older Adult Role Transition.

I plan to adopt a child (or two) roughly around the age of 40. This is atypical due to the nature of United States Average of having a child is 25. Additionally, most women prefer to give birth. Challenges will be being a single mother, caring for the child/ren and being a single-home earner. These challenges can be coped by support from friends, family and additional resources.
  • 2.4 Potential consequences of my lifestyle

2.4 Potential consequences of my lifestyle
I do have some family history of certain diseases that have potential impact aside from lifestyle and that is cancer. Epecially essential thrombocythaemia even though it is rare, a number of my family members have been diagnosed. My lifestyle could improve on food choices, but is not horrid. There is always ways to improve cravings and improve creativity. Continuing to involve in yoga would make a positive impact on bones and muscles but also for telomeres. Both would contribute to prevention.
  • 3.1 Problem Solving

At 75 years old, problem solving would affect IADL's while doing finances. Trying to create or continue a budget would provide a barrier when it comes to how to pay for things or place money in correct accounts. If something were to be expensive and pose the struggle to pay and affect the budget, the decline in ability may be even more frusterating. Relying on others to assist such as a banker or someone with knowledge of finances would be needed.
  • 3.2 Episodic Memory

    3.2 Episodic Memory
Episodic memory is applicable to IADL's when taking medications pose a barrier. The ability to recall when the last time medicine was taken can be dangerous to those who over/under medicate. Which could lead to additional problems. A solution would be to buy a pill case that would be for morning/noon/night and then by day. Having someone who can assist filling that on a weekly basis can be helpful, if the need is shown.
  • 8.1 In The End

Emma Therese Becker was born November 14th, 1993 in Aurora, Illinois. Single, never married and no children. She is the daughter of Edward Becker and Diane (Don) Taylor. She leaves behind step-sister Jacqueline Taylor. Emma graduated from Gallaudet University 2016, 2017 and 2019 with a degree in School Psychology. • 6.4 Generativity vs. self absorption and stagnation

Looking back, the concern whether I have supported my children and family is of importance. Even though, I have experienced divorce, remarried and now am a widow, the need to ensure my children and grand-children and being provided for is my only concern. Financial aspects are not ideal but I hope to continue to provide emotional, mental and lead to acceptance of oneself.
