  • Albany Congress

    The British was thinking a war was going to break out soon so the British called a meeting of colonial leaders and they invited the Iroquois It took place at Albany, New York. The British hoped to form an alliance to defend themselves from the French. the Iroquois refused. But the colonies worked out a plan to defend them selves.

    French and Indian War

    The French and Indian war was between French,Algonquin,Huron, versus the British,Iroquois and colonists. Both sides want control over Ohio river valley. The British won and the France lost their entire empire to the British.
  • Treaty of Paris

    After losing to Quebec, French could no longer defend rest of its North American territory. So Britain and French signed a treaty of Paris. Giving Britain French Canada, Territory east of the Mississippi, And they received Spanish Florida.

    Pontiac's War

    The Pontiac's war was between the Pontiac and western native Americans versus the British. The Pontiac and his allies attacked British forts and settlements throughout the area. Nearly half a dozen western British forts were destroyed and at least 2,000 back-country settlers were killed. The British also attacked thousands of people who weren't attacking.This all happened because the Pontiac and the Natives wanted to keep territory. Appalachian Mountains. After all of this the British won.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation of 1763 was made because the british wanted to avoid more wars with the Natives. So they made the proclamation of 1763 that banned colonial settlements of the west side of the line drawn on the applicachian mountains. This angered many colinists who beilieved that they had the right to reside wherever they wanted. The Proclamation was unsuccessful because it was widely ignored and proved impossible for the British to enforce.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act is a parliament that the British passed to impose new taxes to get more money. The Sugar Act put a duty on several products including molasses, It also called for harsh punishment of smugglers. It didn't work the colonists boycotted and stopped The Sugar Act.
  • The Stamp Act

    The stamp act required that all colonists buy special stamps for all kinds of products and activities. The stamps had to be placed on wills,licenses,newspapers,insurance policy's, land titles, contracts and other documents. The British did this to earn money from taxes but it failed the colonists boycotted again and it worked. So the Stamp Act was canceled.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Purpose of the Quartering Act was to save money to enforce the Proclamation of 1763 Britain kept about 10,000 soldiers in the colonies. The act required colonists to quarter British troops and provide them with food and other supplies. The Quartering Act failed the colonists protested again. Also the parliament was violating their rights so the colonists won.
  • Boston Massacre

    The British Massacre was when 100 colonists surrounded 12 British troops. Colonialist started throwing rocks and snowballs. Then there was a shot then 4 more and 5 people were dead and 6 were wounded.
  • Tea Act

    The British parliament passed the Tea Act it was intended to help British east India Company one of Britain's most important company. For many years the company had made money of growing tea in India and then selling it to Britain.Tea Act lowered the price of the tea because the colonist boycotted.
  • Boston Tea Party

    A group of Colonists called Sons Of Liberty organized in port cities to stop the East Indie Company from tea being unloaded. No tea was unloaded in any ports. However in Boston Governor Thomas Hutchinson decided to make sure the tea would be unloaded so when the first tea ships from Boston arrived he ordered them to be unloaded. 2 weeks later a group of large men dressed as natives went on the ship and threw 324 cases of tea into the harbor.
  • Intolerable Act

    King George the 3rd called for tough actions for the Boston tea party the first act closed the port of Boston, Two others increased the power of royal government. Also anyone accused of murdering a British colonial official will be tried in Britain. Finally the fourth act strengthened the Quartering act. They boycotted and the intolerable act was terminated.
  • First Continental Congress

    The first continental congress was a meeting with the leaders of the 12 colonies only Georgia didn't bring a leader. it took place in Philadelphia. The congress demanded a repeal of the intolerable act and declared that the colonies had a right to tax and govern themselves. So they boycotted and won.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Concord sent out 700 troops to seize the arms and capture some important colonial leaders and about 7 miles from Concord in Lexington 77 minutemen were waiting when the British arrived and the British ordered them to go home and they refused and someone shot it was "the shot heard around the world". There was a battle between 400 minutemen and they fought the British it took place 5 miles from Concord. By the time British reached Boston almost 300 of them were either killed or wounded.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    The Second Continental Congress was a meeting with the 13 colonies leaders to discuss the crisis with the British. They came together in Philadelphia. They decided to form an army, make George Washington the commander,and print paper money. The Second Continental Congress was acting like a government.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    The fort was placed at the southern end of Lake Champlain. The fort was important for two reasons: 1) it lead the route to Canada 2)It held valuable weapons. The battle was The Green Mountain Boys ( who were a group of 83 people who were lead by Ethan Allen) vs 42 British soldiers. Later George Washington moved the cannons to the battle at Fort Ticonderoga and they defeated the British. The Americans won.
  • Battles of Bunker and Breeds hill

    British General William Howe decided to attack right at Breed hill. The American commander knew his soldiers did not have much ammunition. So when the Americans went into battle they hid in the trenches. Then the British formed lines and walked up the hill and the British lost 1000 soldiers to Americans 400 soldiers but the Americans withdrew because they ran out of ammunition.The British won, this was important because bunker and breed hill the hill was important because it looked over the city
  • Olive Branch Petition

    The Olive Branch Petition was a petition not signed by King George saying that all colonists that were loyal to the king it asked George to stop fighting so all disputes between Britain so we could resolve this peacefully. King George did not bother answer the petition instead he declared the colonists "in open...rebellion".
  • Invasion of Quebec

    The Americans attacked Canada in Quebec during a severe snowstorm. The attack was turned back. Richard Montgomery was killed and Benedict Arnold was wounded. so the Americans didn't fight
  • The British Withdrawal from Boston

    Washington placed the cannons on the high grounds over-looking Boston. The British could no longer defend the city. So the British withdrew by sea and never returned.
