    The KKK is an organization of white members that dress in white robes and cone masks. They are known for the torture, lynching and killing of mainly African Americans and other immigrants. During the civil rights movement they committed many violent crimes like bombing of schools, homes and African American facilities.
  • The Vietnam War

    The Vietnam War
    The Vietnam war started on November 1, 1955 and ended on April 30, 1973. The War was fought (after WW2) because North Vietnam wanted to establish a communist government and South Vietnam(also know as Vietcong) did not. The United States allied with the South because Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson were afraid to lose Vietnam to communism. Unfortunately the war became to much and the united states officially withdrew with the signing of the Paris Peace Accords.

    Governor George Wallace of Alabama refused to desegregate schools after case ruling of Brown V Board of education. President JFK sent troops down to the University of Alabama to force him to integrate the school. The next day on the 11th of June he had no choice but to listen to the federal order.     The Black Panther Party was founded in 1966 Oakland, California. It was heavily involved in the black power movement and supported things such as ending police brutality and finding fairness and justice for African Americans. They also did not enforce violence but self defense. Popular Civil Rights Activist like Stokely Carmichael supported the Black Panther Party and popularized the term black power.     Robert Kennedy was former president John F. Kennedy's brother. He was a democratic presidential candidate and was assassinated after one of his speeches in California because of his strong support for the civil rights movement. He never became president.

In retaliation of the Soviet Union launching the first manned space flight, NASA sends John Glen into orbit in 1962. Neil Armstrong becomes the first man to walk on the moon in 1969.

    President Reagan was the 40th President of the United States. The attempt happened at the Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C. The president was shot by John Hinckely Jr but the shot didn't kill him. Hinckely attempt was caused by his obsession of Actress Jodie Foster to impress her.
