Frankensteins adopt Elizabeth

The Frankensteins adopt Elizabeth when they were in Italy. She was given to Victor as a "gift" which he took literally and claimed Elizabeth his. (pgs 33-34)

Beaufort dies

1 CE

Caroline's father, Beaufort dies and Victor's father, who was a dear friend of Beaufort, decided to take care of Caroline and marry her. They became the Frankensteins.

Henry Clerval

When The Frankensteins moved to Geneva, Victor felt "indifferent" but he met Henry Clerval who was the son of a merchant. Henry and Victor became due to both their interests in adventure and their compassion towards others. (pg 36-38)

Lightning struck a tree

When Victor sees a tree struck by lightning he began to be interested in science. This event sparked his curiosity in learning more about science and the beginning of his ambition. (pg 40-41)

Caroline Dies

Elizabeth caught the Scarlett fever and Victor's mother, Caroline, took care of her. Three days later Caroline caught the Scarlett fever and died but her wish was for Elizabeth and Victor to get married. (Pg 42-43)

Went to Ingolstadt

After Victor’s mother dies hen soon departed for Ingolstadt. Before( he departed however, he said good bye to a grieving Elizabeth and Clerval and said he would write often. (pg 43-44)

Victor Starts Collecting Materials

In order to create the creature, Victor had to gather materials. He stole body parts from graves trying to create a more human like figure. Once he collected all his materials, he started to create the monster. (pg 50-52)

Victor becoms obsessed with creating the monster

Victor became obsessed with finishiing the monster. He stopped writing to his family and he starts to not eat or sleep. (pg 53-55)

The Creature is Alive

Victor brought the monster to life and when he saw its hideous form. He saw this monstrosity and started to doubt ever creating it. Victor was scared of the monster so he locked himself in his room.(pg 56-57)

Victor Abandons the Creature

After isolating himself into his room, he had a bad dream and when he wakes up the monster is in his room. He escapes and finds Clerval. When Clerval and Victor return to the apartment, the monster is gone.

Victor’s Character Development: Victor’s Health is slowly Decaying

Victor isn’t very fatigued and malnourished during and after he creates the monster. He is struggling to grip his sanity and he selves into more of his work and even after he created the monster.

Victor’s Character Development: Victor Isolates Himself into Nature

After Justine died Victor retreats to nature and isolation. His moods usually match the weather. He wanted to forget his burdens, the monster, and avoid confrontation. When something goes wrong he just isolated himself.

The Demise of Felix

“The government of France were greatly enraged at the escape of their victim and spared no pains to detect and punish his deliverer. The plot of Felix was quickly discovered, answers DeLacey and Agatha we’re thrown into prison.” (pg 120)

The Creature Himeself to the Cottagers

One day the Creature introduces himself to the blind old man who is at first kind but when the creature revealed himself the cottagers were frightened and the monster ran away.(pg 127-129)

The Creature Takes his First Victim

When the creature was walking along the river, and finds, William, Victor’a brother. The monster scared William and when he found out he was a Frankenstein, the monster killed William. (pg 136)

Victor Agrees to make the Creature a Companion

Once the creature proposed he wanted a companion Victor was appalled. He refused the creature’s request. When the monster suggested to escape into some isolated area with his companion and never to return, Victor obliged and then went to the Geneva. (pg 141-142)

Victor is Questioned by his Father

Victor’s father is upset that Victor was unhappy and he didn’t know why. He confessed that he found out, he thought that Victor no longer wanted to marry Elizabeth. Victor assured him he loves Elizabeth so his father is joyful and thinks their wedding should be soon. The creature is expecting Victor to create his companion so he tells his father he has to go to England.(pg 144-145)

Victor Begins to Create the Creature’s Companion

Clerval and Victor were traveling throughout Europe and once they reached Scotland Victor thought it was fine to start creating another monster out of fear of the creature arriving. He went to an island, worked in the morning, and walked on the beach in the evenings. He was advancing quickly in creating the other monster. (pg 155-157)

Victor’s Character Development: Victor’s Indecisiveness about Creating the Creature’s Comapanion

Victor keeps contradicting himself in his decision with creating the creature’s companion. He thinks it’s a good idea so he can get rid of the monster but a bad idea because they could go against all of humanity or reproduce and all would be worse. He eventually decides to not create the companion which leads to ultimate consequences.

Victor Destroys the Creature’s Companion

While Victor was in his laboratory, he started thinking of the horrible things the creature and his companion could do. When the creature arrived he told him he would not go through with it. The Creature was enraged and told Victor he would be there on his wedding night. (pg 158-161)

After Victor had his wedding day where he lost Elizabeth his health and sanity slowly began to decay. He decided to chase the monster and wounded up with Robert Walton. He tells Walton his troubles and eventually dies in his ship of exhaustion.
