    The Estates General meeting is called by King Louis XVI to agree on a better tax plan with which everyone would he happy. The three estates participated and it ended when the third estate formed into the National Assembly inviting the others to turn against the King.

    After the National Assembly was locked out of the meeting room and after that they joined in a tennis court and promised not to leave until the Regime was established.

    The french people were very mad at the King and wanted to be heard so on July 14, 1789 the people went to Bastille, a prison, and libertated everyone there even though there were only 7 prisoners. It signified the end of King Louis Authority becuase he could no longer control his people.

    The king riased the prise on bread for over 88% and the san-culottes and emigrents especially couldn't afoard bread. So the people started stealing the bread and sometimes in extreme cases they even ended up killing bakers. Not only did men do this things but also women.

    In the night of June 20 King Louis XVI tried to escape paris with all of his imediate family to try and make a counter-revolution. He failed, they got only as far as Varennes where they were arrested and taken back to Paris.

    Many countries were scared of France because they feared that what was happening there would be an example for their people and their people would do the same. At first France was doing very poorly in the war but then the army became more succesful as the war progressed.

    Monarchy Was Abolished
    Because of lack of food and money the Legislative Assembly voted to abolish the monarchy and make The First Republic, the vote was approved and the Absolute Monarchy in France was abolished.
