    Schindler was born Svitavy, Moravia. During that time, this area was an Austro-Hungarian monarchy. He also obtained Czech citizenship after he was born.

    The Germans removed 1700 people, including 1000 Jews, from the Krakow ghetto to be placed in custody of Schindler's factory. This was a great change because the people were being greatly abused without Schindler's help.

    The Germans called for the creation of a new concentration camp called plaszow. All of Schindler's workers were designated to it. Schindler convinced the SS to turn his factory into a subcamp of plaszow, thus all of the workers would remain under his control, so he could shelter them from the Nazi camps.

    Schindler's list ensured 800 jewish lives that would have been exterminated at Plaszow. He had to create a product while he was sheltering these Jews. He produced armaments that were mostly faulty to save more people during the war. He created about 1 full crate of working ammunition throughout the whole running time of the subcamp. Schindler, in total, saved 1000 Jews and left May 9th, the day before soviets liberated most of the camps.

    Schindler remained in Germany after he left his factory. He settled in Regenburg, Germany. He lived there until 1949. Afterwards, he moved to Argentina. A little while after he and his wife divorced. He returned to Germany and lived there alone.
