    This was the day that the Declaration was signed and the U.S gained it's freedom from Great Britain. This was one of the most important pieces of history because it was the day we were freed, and the U.S was now it's own nation.

    This was the day in 1803 when president Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana territory from France and doubled the U.S's size. It was important because the U.S got the Mississippi river port and it doubled our countries land size. Without the Louisiana purchase our country might not be were it is today.
  • The Attack on Fort Sumter

    At this day at a federal outpost in Charleston called Fort Sumter, there was an attack that occurred by confederate soldiers. This attack then let to the beginning of the Civil War.

    This was the very important day when slavery ended in U.S. On this day the 13th amendment to the constitution was ratified. It was important because it changed the lives of many people and because without the end of slavery it would still be going on today.

    This was the day of when the NAACP wanted to show that there were schools that were unequal. So they decided to go to court and argue over it and the NAACP won. This was a very important piece of history because it was apart of the Civil Rights Movement.

    This was the day that a major terrorist that planned the 9/11 attacks died. It was an important day because they were looking for him for over ten years.
