    July 4th, 1776, Congress adopted the document that proclaimed independence. This was important because this Declaration proclaimed Independence.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    On April 30th, 1803 President Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory from France for 15,000,000 dollars. This is important because this gained America control of the Mississippi River that was used travel all over America. The Purchase also doubled America in size.
  • Lewis and Clark Journey West

    The Lewis and Clark journey was a expedition that took place between 1804-1806. It was a Journey up the Missouri River to the Pacific Ocean. It is important to us because they found the source of the Mississippi River, and Clark made the first accurate map, that would help people travel in the future.
  • The California Gold Rush

    The California Gold Rush was a time in 1849 that people from all over California and the United States rushed to the American River that started the rush. It is important because many miners found gold all over the American River. And since a lot of people rushed to the river many labor shortages happened.

    In 1954 the Supreme Court had ruled in Plessy v. Ferguson that "separate-but-equal" facilities were constitutional. This is Event is important because this was the day racially segregated schools, were not ruled equal and therefore where no longer allowed. It also opened the door to other successful challenges to segregated public places.

    On this day President John F Kennedy was murdered by Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK was murdered while riding through a Motorcade in downtown Dallas. This event is important because our president, is the person that made critical decisions everyday for our country.

The World Trade Center Towers were destroyed, these two Towers were an important business center in New York City. They also hit the Pentagon, this was a very important Building in Washington DC because it was the Department of Defense.
