    Thousands of people were dead. Both the people in the north and the south were suffrering. The Confederates were losing.

    The south had got their Confederacy. It had got 11 states. They thinked there were a different nation from the Union in the nort. Confederate soldiers attacked a Union fort called Fort Sumter

    The people in the north lived in towns, but in the south, they lived on plantation and own slaves. The plantation owners wanted to keep their slaves, but the people in the north want to abolish slavery. They say it was cruel.
