Canadian International Hockey Team
The Summit series was a hockey tornament played between Canada's NHL players and the Soviet Union in September of 1971-1972.
This kind of event had never happened before and given that it existed during the Cold War it made it even more unique.
During the eight day event both teams battled, half the games were played in Canada the other half in Moscow.
On the eighth and final game with 34 seconds to go Paul Henderson scored the winning goal for Canada. -
