Opium was smuggled into China by the British when the British wanted to export goods, not just import. The Chinese government didn't like it because it disoriented the country. The Chinese then start a war which British wins easily. -

British won the Opium War and as a result, the British was granted a lot of money and control over Hong Kong. It was an unequal treaty for the Chinese. -

Due to many wars and battles, India has become very bloody and was demolished. Queen Victoria, giving full support to India's next leader, becomes Empress of India. -

Panama canal was finished in 1914 by US. The French started it first, but abondoned it due to high worker mortality rate. It goes through Panama.
