    Early Childhood

Early childhood education for me started pretty early. My mother worked at a development center for children. I started going there at two years old. This is when my first memories of comprehension began. I remember writing and reading in this portion of my life. I scribbled much before this, but when I was two in the two year old classroom, this was my first time writing my name and figuring out how books worked. I read, not the actually words, but my own stories.

    Kindergarten

Kindergarten was similar to my early childhood years because I was at the same school with the same kids. The child development center had a place for kindergarten. At this age a very prominent memory I have is that my teacher was very into us being adventurous and curious so we did many different experiments. This was when my knowledge of science and experiment came into play.

    First Grade

I moved from my moms work to a school called Willard. I did not enjoy first grade because there was a lack of being challenged. Everything seemed very simple and it was stuff I had already learned to do. My teacher would get very upset with me when I would raise my hand many times to answer questions because to her I was a 'know it all'. On top of her dislike of me, my classmates bullied me as well for being so tiny.

    Second and Third Grade

By second grade, my family and I had moved again. I was going to another school that I enjoyed a bit more, but I was not yet thriving. In second grade, I had a wonderful teacher who saw my potential and pushed me to the best of her abilities. I wrote a short story about polar bears and won a prize from the school for having the best informational short story. I loved to write and let my imagination run wild, but I also loved to learn about new things. Third grade was different. Very mundane.

    Forth and Fifth Grade

This was my last move of the elementary block of my life. I moved from Elgin to Hampshire and started attending Hampshire Elementary School. This was the place I figured out what I was good at and started to thrive. I started a book club where we would spend recess talking about the new and interesting books we read and emailing the authors. I also had a tutoring club where we would also meet at recess and help each other with subjects such as math. This was also the time I started softball.
  • Period: to

    Middle School

Hampshire Middle School is where I attended. I was still in softball but my interests started changing academically. I loved science and math. I was still exceptional in my other classes, but this is where I learned what I was good at. I was in all honors classes and tried my very best.
  • Period: to

    High School

In high school my favorite things to do was read Shakespeare and do algebra. This was the place I learned much about how to type papers, grammar importance, and how to do adequate research. At the end of each of my English classes we would have to write a paper on the book we read and also on a topic of research from the book. I learned about persuasive debate in writing and the different styles of writing depending on what type of voice you were trying to capture. I also played football.

    Elgin Community College

This was the first college I attended. Here I learned some important things such as: What I wanted to be when I grew up and a way to get there. I learned much here about new ways to research and new styles to write papers in. I found ways here to make homework interesting and how to better use my resources.

    Illinois State University

So far, here I am learning more in depth of what its going to be like to be the one standing in the front of the classroom developing the strong minds of tomorrows future.
