    The first known case of these families was in Mamaroneck, New York during September 1900. One person was a victim of her crime. Mary was here for three years before infecting a young man visiting the household.
  • A Family Living in New York City, New York

    The next victim was from a family living in New York City, New York during December 1901. A laundress was infected one month after Mary worked there.
  • Drayton Family Living in Dark Harbor, Maine

    Six months later during June 1902, the Drayton family was infected with typhoid fever by Mary. This family was from Dark Harbor, Maine with a whopping nine victims. Four family members and five servants were infected. Typhoid was uncommon in the neighborhood that the family lived in since it was pretty wealthy and the water was safe.
  • Gilsey Family Living in Sands Point, New York

    Two years later four victims from the Gilsey family from Sands Point, New York were infected during June 1904. The Gilsey family was a well-known New York family. Mary was with the family for nine months before infecting the four victims, all of which were servants.
  • Warren Family Living in Oyster Bay, New York

    From August to September of 1906, six victims from the Warren family were struck with typhoid fever in Oyster Bay, New York. Three weeks before the epidemic started in this household, the family changed their cook to Mary. George Soper was hired for this case in which he began his search for Mary.
  • Kessler Family Living in Tuxedo Park, New York

    Only one month later, was the next victim, a laundress, hit from the Kessler family in October of 1906. This family lived in Tuxedo Park, New York. The laundress was infected fourteen days after Mary arrived to the house.
  • Bowne Family Living in New York City, New York

    The next victims and final victims until Mary was quarantined was from the Bowne family in February 1907 in New York City, New York. Two victims were infected two months after the cook arrived with one death.
  • Mary is detained by the New York City Department of Health

    A month later, Mary is found, captured, and detained by the New York City Department of Health during March 1907
