    Maynard Jackson served three terms as mayor of Atlanta. He served from October 16,1973 to 1982 and 1990 to 1994. He was just 35 when he won the mayoral race with a staggering 60 percent of the vote against his opposition Sam Massell. He was determined that blacks deserved more city business so he hired more black contractors. Also due to his efforts as mayor the brand new Terminal of Harts-field International Airport at the time was finished briskly and under budget. In
