    This was the bloodiest battle ever in the marines history. The US had over 7,000 casualties. Marines landed in the pacific with the largest-known Marine battle. Capturing the two Iwo Jima helped with the air support and bombings planned against the Japanese.

    This was a strategy to take Japan's held islands. This was so that the Americans could bomb Japan to prepare for the invasion of the Japanese home island.

    The United States fought back, on two of Japan's cities, with what is know as the deadly mushroom, after the Attack on Pearl Harbor. This was the first atomic bombs.
