    Perfusionist
    In 1984, I had the opportunity to train for and become a perfusionist. This is the medical technician who runs the heart-lung machine during open hear surgery. I worked as a perfusionist for the next 16 years.

    In 2000, after returning to school for a degree in Business Administration, I became an auto claims adjuster for State Farm Insurance. I left this work in 2002 to work toward a degree in Education.

    Since 2004 I have worked as a Business Education teacher. I first completed a long term substute assignment at Bettendorf High School. Then, in the fall of 2004 I started working as a Business Teacher at Sherrard Jr. Sr. High School where I have worked for the past 12 years.
