Napoleon declares himself as Emperor
Instead of letting the pope crown him as emperor, he took the crown himself and placed it upon his head. He did this to show the he was the most dominate person at the time, and no one was above him. (Green) -

Waterloo
Four French attacks on the allied army's centre failed to break through, and Napoleon had to move troops to meet a flanking attack. While the Prussians were defeated at Ligny, they were allowed to link up with Wellington's army in the final moments of Waterloo, eventually crushing Napoleon's forces. (Red) -
