    Paul Feyerabend was born on the 13 of January 1924, in the city of Vienna, Austria, just after World War 1 (Preston, par. 2). After the war, the streets of Austria were plagued with riots, and famine.     Paul Freyerabend Gets Drafted
    At the age of 16, Paul Feyerabend first displayed an interest and increased capability in physics and math amongst his peers (Preston, par. 3). Despite his success in physics and math, he was attracted to becoming an entertainer and could never decide on a set path (Preston, par. 4). Once he graduated high school, he was drafted into the Army just before World War 2, and requested to be placed on the front lines.

    Paul returned from the war having earned the Iron Cross and being shot in the spine. Upon his return to Australia, he attended the University of Vienna's Institut für Osterreichische Geschichtsforschung and began to study history and sociology with the mindset that it is more applicable to life (Preston, par. 19). In 1970, he published one of his most famous articles “Against Method” (Preston, 5.1).

    Paul published a considerable amount of work that contributed to the Philosophy of Science. After spending many years at the University of Berkley in California, he moved to Zurich Switzerland. Most of his work throughout the mid 80’s became Farewell to Reason (Preston, 5.3). Paul Feyerabend passed away February 11th, 1994.
