    Czar Nicholas II sent the Russian military into Japanese territory to ensure that the Russians had a warm water harbor for importing and exporting goods. As a result the Japanese military slaughtered the Russains who attempted to take this land. Czar Nicholas II got criticized for his attempt to take the land because many Russian men were lost in the conflict.

The Russain Revolution happened because the Russian people were very angry at the Czar for dragging them into the Russo/Japanese war, and WWI.

    Joseph Stalin, arguably one of the worst rulers in Russian history, took power on April 3rd 1922. Since this date (until 1952) Joseph plunged Russia into chaos through sending millions to Gulags in Siberia to work or be killed. He also was very opressive in general to the people of Russia, and was gernally disliked. Though he was very disliked, people feared speaking against him for they may be killed or sent to Gulags for doing such things.
