    Decembrist Revolt
    The Decembrist Revolt is when the russian armly officers led about 3000 soldiers to protest against Nicholas I. It took place in Peters Square in Saint Petersburg and becuase this event happened in December, these protesters involved were then called the Decembrists.
  • Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia

    Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
    Nicholas II was the last czar ever to reign upon russi under the romanov rule. He inherited the throne because his father dies of a kidney disease. Becuase he was sad about the loss of his father and was barley trained,he was not up for the task of replacing his fathers roll. He claimed that he was not prepared for what becoming Czar needed.

    This war was fought between the Russian Empire and the EMpire of Japan. It happened because of arguments over agriculture anc class warfare. Because of this war, many of the citizens became unpleased with the governement that was leading them.

    Bloody Sunday was an event so horrid that it is beleived to be the start of the revolution of 1905 as well as one of the important events that led to the revoltuion of 1917. On this day, as unarmed people marched toward the Winter Palace to present a petition to Czar Nicholas II, they were attacked by soldiers of the Imperial Guard. This event led to massive strikes that spread throughout the Russian empire.

    World War 1 was located in Central and Eastern Europe and was fought between Britain, France, Russia, Italy, USA, and Germany. During the war, Russia made close Allies and joined with Britain and France to form something called the "Triple Entente." While the war was going on, protests and riots were happening back in Russia.

    The March Revolution was a chain of different events that happened during the month of March. The series of events making up this revolution mostly revolved around the people rights and what they wanted. The citizens would argue and protest and try to get what they wanted because they were mad.

    Ever since the beginning of his ruling, czar believed that he was not trained enough to rule, so after the revolution of 1905 things started to go downhill for him. Also, becuase he was not trained, he led his country into many riots and protests which made them dislike him. So, he abdicated the throne and after a secret meeting, nicholas and his family, including his wife and children, were funned down on July 16.

    The Russian Civil War took place for 3 years and involved the whites and the reds. The whites were known as the Mensheviks and the reds were known as the Bolsheviks. This war took place because after the month of november in 1917, a lot of different groups formed that were against the bolsheviks.

    USSR stands for the "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. This was to be the new name for russia. This new name was created by a conference of delegations from Russia sent there to vote. This name change is told be have marked a turning point in the history of the Soviet Power.

    Vladimir Lenin died of a brian hemeredge at the age of 54. Becuase Lenin was so important to Russia, his body was embalmed and placed in a mausoleum. Petrograd was also renamed Leningrad and Joeseph Stalin soon replaced Lenin in the thrown
