    Birth--toddler (school)
I didn't have a formal education at the time of my life, but my parents were my teachers. They taught me to talk by sounding words out to me and I would repeat those words. They read story books to me which also taught me how to say words. They taught me to crawl and walk. I was taught how to feed myself by my parents teaching me to use a fork and spoon. I learned how to play with toys and interact with people.

    Birth--toddler (family)
The agent of Socialization that had the greatest impact on me when I was born to the age the age of a toddler would be family. My parents have taught me how to love and respect others. My parents taught me to love and respect others by loving me back as a young child. They provided hugs and caring words to comfort me when I was happy, sad or angry. No matter how I acted they had love for me. Even though my parents worked full time they would made sure they spent as much time with me as possible.

I didn't really have friends as a baby, but I played with the other children. I was taught to share and be respectful to the others.
  • Birth--toddler (mass media)

    Birth--toddler (mass media)
Mass Media didn't have an impact on my life at the time because I didn't know what television was and my parents didn't think it would be educational for a young child to watch television. Instead of television my mom would turn on baby Mozart music and have me listen to that music to help soothe me.

At the age of a toddler to schoolage my parents still had the greatest impact on me. My parents continued to love me and teach me the values. My parents taught me how to be respectful and love myself and others. My parents worked me to learn how to write, read and count.

At the start of Kindergarten I was able to read and write and solve simple math problems all because of what my parents taught me at a young age. My school Prairie Ridge, had an impact on me, because my school had nice teachers that helped me with my reading skills. School taught me how to become a responsible student and become a better reader by giving me help and support.

In kindergarten I made new friends. At first, my friends at school were not very important to me. I liked playing with them at recess and soon started having play dates outside school. My friends soon became very important to me and enjoyed hanging out with my friends more than doing school work.

    Toddler--school age (mass media)
During my years as a young toddler to the year I started Kindergarten the only mass media I used was the TV and telephone. I watched TV with my parents even though my parents still thought it was bad for my age group. The only time that I used the phone was when I would call long distant family members to check up on them. My parents encouraged me to look at books and play outside instead of sitting in front of a TV.
  • Elementary school (family)

    Elementary school (family)
When I was in elementary school my parents taught me even more things that halped me to grow into a responsible person. One important thing I learned was to be organized. My parents taught me to be organized at home so I could be organized at school as well. My parents taught me to keep my room clean and organized so I could find things. My parents also taught me how to use my emotions. Whether I was happy, sad, or mad, my parents encouraged me and showed support to me.

    Elementary school (school)
Elementary school was the greatest thing ever especially in fourth and fifth grade at Prairie Ridge. I got into lots of trouble for trying to be the class clown. The teacher would get mad and yell at me and my friends. I didnt use the most important thing my parents taught me and that was respect. My teacher, Mrs. Dubishar was very supportive and cared very much for us boys and helped us turn into nice young men.

In Elementary school my peers and I liked to goof off alots in class and outside of class. Now as a ninth grader looking back at my fourth and fifth grade years, we were not great role models for the younger grades, we were terrible role models. I remember that my friend and I got mistaken for two other boys that were supposed to get in-trouble and instead we took the fall.

Mass Media was important to me because I used more of it in elementary school than I did as a toddler. I used computers, phones and TV. I used computers at school and home for projects and homework, I used TV in school and at home all the time, and the most important thing was that I got my first cell phone in the fifth grade. My cell phone was a way for me to communicate with my friends anytime I felt the need.
  • Middle school (family)

    Middle school (family)
By the time I started Middle School I knew everything that my parents taught as a toddler like respect, being trustworthy, being organized and caring. Respect is a major thing that my parents taught and I now know how important it is. One time when I wasn't respectful to a teacher, my parents made me write a formal letter to my teacher apologizing for talking during class when she had asked me not to several times.

By the end of the Middle school year I knew most of the kids in my grade and had lots of friends. Some of my friends were either on my league, school basketball team, or my USSSA baseball league for the Hawks. I enjoyed socializing with my friends in school or out of school. My friends are a big part of my life, I enjoying hanging out with them and having fun.

By now mass media is one of the most important thing in my life. Using social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook and cell phones is a way for me to communicate with my friends when I can not be around them. A big important thing would be Xbox 360. Since sixth graders my friends and I have been playing with each other online from home when we don't have school to socialize with each other instead of going over to each other houses like in elementary school.

Before I started Middle school my parents told me that the teachers give out detentions for not being respectful or by being late/unprepared for class three time. I didn't want to get a detention so I tryed my best to not get on and show that I can respect others around me. I almost got a detention because I was unprepared by one of the teachers I did not like.
