    The National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies was founded.

    Emmeline Pankhurst formed the Women's Social an Political Union (WSPU).
  • 1908

    Women's anti-suffrage league was founded.
  • 1910-1912

    Conciliation Bills were passed with large majorities.
  • 1913

    -The suffragettes' reaction to the goverment opposition to women's suffrage was an increase of violence. They declared war on the goverment and militancy reached its climax. -Emily Davison threw herself under the king's horse and was killed.
  • 1914

    East London Federation of Suffragettes was founded.
  • 1918
