    I attended Romain Preschool and recall singing apples and bananas along with picture reconition. Until there was a nearby shooting and we had to be transported out of the school elsewhere.

    My grandpa taught me to write my entire name.
  • Kindergarden

    Kindergarden
    I completed Kindergarden in Jalisco, Mexico where I recall more of the cultural traditions we practiced than the classroom time. We performed in our community's folklore dances and learned to sing traditional songs.
  • Mom's Teaching

    Mom's Teaching
    My mother would help me with my homework when we didn't have customers in her lunch truck. She also showed me how to properly write certain words in English (our first language is Spanish).

    I was attending elementary school in Mexico on my "vacations" from my California school and was exposed to an extra educational system. My mother's sister taught me to multiply better as she considered I was behind in my foreign school in comparison to Mexico's standard of teaching. She wanted me to be at par with my cousin who was already ahead of me yet younger than I was.

    My grandma taught me to count money when I was living in Mexico. Our family had a convenient store and I would help customers. At the end of the night we would have to cash out our register and I recall counting money with her for the day's earnings.

    I began reading for fun books like Spot and Clifford.
  • Exceled in Reading/Writing

    Exceled in Reading/Writing
    My 5th grade teacher acknowledged my reading and writing abilities and presented me with an award in both areas at our award ceremony for exceling in his class. I thank him greatly for recognizing my abilities because that followed me to college and now I am in the English field in partly due to his encouring words.
  • Advanced to College Early

    Advanced to College Early
    I advanced to college early during my senior year at Madera High School because I was ahead credits and our school had established a program for seniors to be able to take classes at our nerby college (Madera Center). This allowed me to continue with school without a break ensuring I would continue following my career and educational goals.

    I graduated from Madera High School and proceeded attending Madera Center Community College.
  • A.S. in Paralegal Studies

    A.S. in Paralegal Studies
    I graduated Fresno City College with my Associate in Science in Paralegal Studies and returned for one more semester in the fall before transferring to Fresno State in the Spring of 2012.
  • Humane Educator

    Humane Educator
    I was hired at the Central California SPCA as the Humane Educator. I have been teaching humane education regarding animal welfare to local schools and our junior volunteers.
  • B.A. in English Education

    B.A. in English Education
    I will be graduating in the Spring of 2016 with my Bachelor of Arts in English Education.
