Becoming an officer in the French army
Napoleon was sent to France at the age of nine to start training for a career in military. He ends up becoming a lieutenant. -
Military campaign in Egypt and Syria
He was wanting to disturb trade between the British and India. In 1798 he started the campaign in Egypt but it failed. But he managed to hide losses that were much worse than his by his admirers. -

In 1799 He helped overthrow the weak directory and set up a 3 part government called the consulate Later on he took the name of the first consul -
Napoleon’s coronation
It was a ceremony in Paris He invited the pope, he also put the crown on his head by himself. By this action it meant that he was owing the throne to himself and no one else. -

It enlightened principles like people getting equality of all citizens before the law. Religious toleration and no more feudalism. -

Is a battle between France, Britain and Spain. The french and British were fighting and when the battle wore off the British got rid of the Spanish fleet. -

A battle which the Spanish encouraged Austria to fight them. Napoleon triumphed and Austria surrendered. -

With 600,000 soldiers and 50,000 horse. They retreated and burn crops and villages napoleon entered Moscow in September he could not feed his army so the decided to go home. -

Austria, Prussia, Britain and Russia against France which was weak. They end up defeating Napoleon. -
Napoleon’s exile to Elba
When he lost he ended up stepping down from power, Then he was exiled to an island called Elba Then they recognized Louis XVIII, brother of Louis XVI as king of France. -
Napoleon’s Return
Napoleon escaped and returned to France, Citizens cheered Napoleon advancing then Louis XVIII fled and Napoleon entered Paris in triumph. -
The Battle of Waterloo
Again the other countries assembled forces and they met in Waterloo Belgium. They had a daylong battle it was agonizing. -
Napoleon’s exile to St. Helena
Again Napoleon was forced to to go into exile this time at st. Helena. This time he would not return.
