    Invasion of Poland
    Germany's attack on Poland was the first of World War II. The Germans used 2,000 tanks and 1,000 planes to dominate Polish forces. The city of Warsaw in Poland surrendered to the German army after just a few weeks, on September 27, 1939. Its impact was that it caused Great Britain and France to enter the war.

    Hilter's goal in the first year of the war was to invade the Soviet Union, but knew he needed other western countries first. He heavily attacked the Low Countries and France, causing a copious number of French to flee. This ultimately ended in Germany taking over the capital of France, Paris.

    This was a battle between the German Air Force and the United Kingdom during 1940. Germany wanted control of the Royal Air Force. The Germans performed many air strikes on Britain, and both sides took significant damage. Despite this, the Germans did not win the battle, and it was a failure. This caused Germnay to postpone invading Britain, which made this a major event of World War II.

    Operation Barbarossa
    Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union during World War II was called Operation Barbarossa. It was the largest operation of military in history, with 3 million Axis troops and 3,500 tanks. It was succsesful until bad weather played a factor, and German troops did not have winter supplies to protect them. The Soviets then began to attack heavy, and Germany slowly retreated. This was the beginning of the end for Hitler, and the worst loss of the war for Germany thus far.

    Battle of Guadalcanal
    This battle was the first major offensive victory for the Allies in the Pacific. The Japanese came to Guadalcanal to construct an air base, and we arrived two months later to stop this. An airforce base there would be of great use to us, and so we wanted it. After a series of complex and stargteic attacks, Japan ost two-thirds of the 31,400 army troops on the island, casuing them to leave completely by Feb. 1943.

    Both the Axis and Allied powers wanted territories in North Africa durng World War II. Axis had many troops there, and Operation torch took place a few motnhs before, which was America and Britian invasing in order to take away those axis troops. The British launched an infantry attack at El Alamein. It was succsesful, and its impact was that the Axis could no longer have a way of controllling Egypt, which they badly wanted

    The Battle of Kursk wa the biggest tank battle of World War Two. The Germans once again attack the Soviet Union and lost, despite having nearly 900,000 soldiers, 10,000 artillery guns, 2,700 tanks and 2,000 aircraft. It was a horrific loss for Nazi Germany, and was the last attack Germany was able to do in the East

    Battle of Normandy (D day)
    This battle is perhaps the most famed of World War II. 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces attack five beaches across the coast of Normandy. The beach was heavuly occupied by German forces. It resulted in the release of Western Europe from Nazi Germany’s control, as well as removed Germans from northwestern France.

    Hitler attempted to split the Allied armies in northwest Europe with Blitzkreg. It was the bloodies battle fought by the Americans. Neither side won or lost, and it is known as a draw. Its impact was the loss of 100,000 American troops.

    This was the final battle for Hitlers' Germany. The soviets invaded Berlin with 20 armies, 8,500 aircraft, and 6,300 tanks. It was the Germans' last stand. The battle was a sucsess for the soviets. They took control of Berlin. This was the downfall of Nazi Germany
