  • The beginning of my life.

    The beginning of my life.
April 26 1998, a comedic, yet very intelligent star was born in Inglewood, CA. That is me, Cynthia Chavez; born and raised in California. I had lived with my parents and grandparents at the time, but the location wasn't quite that pleasant to be at the time. Much violence took place by home and school.
  • Moving to the hottest place in the U.S, literally.

Moving to the hottest place in the U.S, literally.
I Moved to Lake Havasu City, where the closest friends I had were the rocks outside. Even then, they were always questioning our friendship. I'm just kidding around, but I wasn't so fond with school since the beginning of time. It really wasn't my thing. I never had problems making friends, since I was open enough to make conversation with anyone. Since I moved to Lake Havasu, my view on school changed for the worse.
  • New school, New problems.

    New school, New problems.
I went to Havasupai in 3rd grade, and met my long term friends, in which we are all still friends till this day. The problem was that since I started grade 3, I had more absent days than I had attended. I like to learn, so that was not the problem either. The more I was gone, the more left out I felt from the classroom and even my friends. So as a result, I felt sad and depressed most of the time and that kept me from doing daily activities.
  • A new member

    A new member
The arrival of my brother Anthony. Always a plus to have a new member in the family. He brought me much happiness in the times I felt down, but then again he was also a reason I was missing so much school.
  • Middle School

    Middle School
I started Middle school the same way, missing a lot.My grades were definitely lacking, and I had no time for friends. I spent everyday, not exaggerating, in the classroom at lunchtime making up the work I missed. My middle school years were the most important in my life so far because it impacted me emotionally and helped me make important decisions in the future.
  • Middle school pt. 2

    Middle school pt. 2
7th grade, the worse year I have ever had. It was to the point to where I would beg my mom for one more absent day. The days I actually did go to school I spent in the nurse's office trying to go home. Nothing seemed to be working for me and I felt lost and hopeless.
  • Finally comes highschool

    Finally comes highschool
Every year of high school was a roller coaster. The first semester would always be great, then the next would be terrible. One day, I spoke to a teacher and she told me I wasn't going to make it with the route I was taking. Junior year was bad. I started with F's almost instantly. Not that I didn't understand the subjects, it was the absences held me back from learning. I never knew what was going on in the class.
  • Health scare

    Health scare
My father had gotten sick. Months in the hospital and all we had was hope. Since this scare, it made me think of the importance of health. For me and for my family. The day he came out of the hospital, we fixed our bad eating habits and exercised more often.
  • An important reminder

    An important reminder
I had my Quinceneara party, a tradition that was passed on for generations. It reminded me how precious family values are, and to appreciate them in everyway possible. I realized that my family is what keeps me up when I'm feeling down.
  • The switch to online

    The switch to online
My choice to start online school. the biggest and yet the best decision I had made so far. Since the day my teacher had told me I wasn't going to make it, something went through my mind over and over, almost like anger towards her words. I was dedicated to prove her wrong, I don't like people telling me what I can't do. I was going to pass, and do beyond expectations to show that I have the willpower to do what I want.
