The End of the Great Pandemic*
A flu virus that infected 500 million people across the world, and resulted in the deaths of 50 to 100 million (three to five percent of the world's population), making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in human history. I think this is historically important because it killed a good amount of the world’s population. This could affect wars, the amount of necessities for everyone else, and it killed off many generations.
  • League of Nations

    League of Nations
Founded on 10 January 1920 as a result of the Paris Peace Conference that ended the First World War. It was the first international organization whose principal mission was to maintain world peace. I feel this is historically important because peace was something that was very rare during wartimes, so having this group and movement was very important for many people, and the well-being of the world.
  • USA Granted Women the Right to Vote

USA Granted Women the Right to Vote
The 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. On May 21, 1919, the House of Representatives passed the amendment, and 2 weeks later, the Senate followed. When Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the amendment on August 18, 1920, the amendment passed its final hurdle of obtaining the agreement of three-fourths of the states. This is important because without the passing of this amendment, almost nothing would be possible for women. This law set up the platform for all

  • Lincoln Memorial Dedicated

    Lincoln Memorial Dedicated
The Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States (MOLLUS) was responsible for the arrangement of the dedication of the building on May 30, 1922. The annual ceremony, which takes place on the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, February 12th, commemorates the life and contributions of our 16th President to our county. I feel this is important because it shows a great deal of nationalism throughout our country, people coming together to celebrate a past president and all his victories.

  • Great Depression

    Great Depression
The Great Depression was the deepest and longest-lasting economic downturn in the history of the Western industrialized world. In the United States, the Great Depression began soon after the stock market crash of October 1929, which sent Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of investors. This is important because it really kicked America into high gear when WW2 came around, and it broke up social classes and created high tension in the US.
  • Holocaust

    Holocaust
The Holocaust was the persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazis. The Nazis, who came to power in Germany in January 1933, believed that Germans were "racially superior" and that the Jews were a threat to the German racial community. This is important in history because it set the base for judgement and hatred across the world. It also killed millions of people, destroying so many generations. It’s a very well-known act, if not one that caused the most awareness. Also this was Hitle
