    Eugene V. Debs

    He was a political leader during the late nineteeth century and early twentieth century, he was a five time presidential candidate for the Socialist party. He got locked up in the 1890's for encouraging a railway strke that was illegal, once again he was imprisoned for judging World War I.

    These laws were important because they enforced racial segragation in the South at the end of reconstrution also in the begining of the civil rights movements.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    The Chinese Exclusion Act was important to the United States because it was a United States federal law that was signed by one of the presidents this was a restriction on free immigrationthat was prohibiting all Chinese workers that were immigrating.

    This was when a Geman U-boat sank, there were more than 1,900 passengers and crew members there were more than 120 Americans, this was about two years before the United States Entered World War I.

    Diplomatic proposal from the Germens to allie with Mexico, this was important because this was when the United States was enter into the Worl War I and they were at with with the United States.

    The Red Scare was patriotic when anarchist and left-wing social agiation made worse the national, social, and political tensions, this showed excessive fear to individual rights. Also this came in the wakening of Worl War I

    18th Amendment

    The 18th Amendment stated that alcoholic beverages were made illegal that meant transporting, making, and selling alcaholic beverages was illegal.This came to an end by the time it was 1933 it was ratified by the 21st amendment.
  • Sedition Act

    This Act was important because it to target everyone who would talk critize the government such that were negative comments, this also inlcuded negative comments about the flag. To make false statements or reports to interfere with the United States was not tolerated.
  • 19th Amendment

    This gave the Women the rights to vote, some women didnt have the right to vote ad this was known as the woman's sufferage movmement until this Amendment was passed.
  • Immigration Act of 1924

    The Immigration Act of 1924 was so that a limited number of immigrants could come into the United States, this meant you could only come in if you had a national orgins quota which was kind of like a visa, but this mainly excluded imigrants from Asia. This act was the first major attempt to restrict immigration in the United States.
  • John Scopes - The Monkey Trial

    This important because this was when a young high school sience teacher was accused of teaching the students evolution because this was against the Tennessee States Law. This was said because they could only teach things that wouldnt deny anything from the Bible. in 1927 they Supreme Court overturned this case and was left like that until 1968. The United States had strong beliefs and one of them was the Bible thats why this had affected them.

    This was applied for the president for the four year term so that those in office wouldnt stay for a long time.This wasnt ratfied until January 23, 1933
  • 21st Amendment

    This returned the regulation of the alcohol, this meant alcohol wasnt prohibited anymore, this was importnat because the US decided the driking age and all states put their own rules for it.
