  • The Founder of Scouting

    The Founder of Scouting
    The Boy Scout movement was founded in Great Britain by General Robert S.S. Baden- Powell. He is the founder of Scouting, he started a camp were he taught young boys survival tips and camping which became the starting ground of Scouting. He wrote a book called "Scouting for Boys." He started the organization known as Scouting which is in over 120 countries and has over 3 million members.

  • Scout Motto

    Scout Motto
    Robert Powell created the scout motto known as "Be Prepared. He published it in his book "Scouting for Boys" and in the book he told what be prepared means. He said that It means “you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your duty" (Scouting for Boys).   • First Scout Camp

    First Scout Camp
    Robert Powell organized a nine day camp at the Brownsea Island, which consisted of 20 teenagers boys. At the camp Robert Powell tested his idea for training boys. In the army he found the best way to teach was in small groups, so he had split the boys into four groups and the oldest were know as the patrol leaders.   • Scouting for Boys

    Scouting for Boys
    Scouting for boys, written by Robert Baden-Powell was a book which talked about what Robert Powell did with his troops. The book talked about survival skills such as building fires, stalking animals and talked about proper manners. The book was very popular by many young boys, who practiced the stuff in the book.   • British Boy Scouts

    British Boy Scouts

  • First National Boy Scout Meeting

    First National Boy Scout Meeting
    There were over 60,000 who were part of the Boy Scouts by the end of 1908. In September 1909 the first Boy Scout meeting was held, it was held at the Crystal palace in London.   • Sea Scouts

    Sea Scouts
    TS Mercury was the last camp that was organized by Robert Powell. The camp consisted of water based actives. The camp was the start of the sea scouts, which were a part of the scouting organization except they did most of there actives in the water. Image- https://seascout.org/about/history/
  • Boy Scouts of America

    Boy Scouts of America
    In 1909 a publisher named W.D. Boyce was visiting London, when he got lost in the fog an unknown scout came to him and guided him to his destination. Boyce offered him a tip but he refused saying that he was a scout and doing his good turn daily. This made Boyce interested in scouts and learned more about it.   • Girl Scouts

    Girl Scouts
    Juliette Gordon Low founded the girl scouts in the USA. A meeting with Robert Powell inspired her to start the Girl Scouts. She started the first girl troop in Savannah Georgia.   • First Eagle Scout

    First Eagle Scout
    Arthur Rose Eldred from Troop 1 was the first Eagle scout. He had completed all of his merit badges and all he had left was the board of review. After his board of review on August 21, 1912 he was informed that he was the First Eagle scout ever.   • Order of the Arrow

    Order of the Arrow
    A camp director named E. Urner Goodman, wanted to so something to recognize a selected few campers, because of there cheerful spirit and service to the camp. So to recognize them he made the Order of the Arrow ceremony. Camps recognized this and started adding this to there camps. The Order of the Arrow became one of the high camp honors to earn.   • Cub Scouts

    Cub Scouts
    Boy scouts was offered to older boys, so Robert Powell founded the wolf cubs or also known as the Cub scouts. The Cub scouts were a similar thing to the boy scouts except it was offered to younger people and was the bride way to entering boy scouts.   • First scout jamboree

    First scout jamboree
    The jamboree was hosted by the United Kingdom in London. The jamboree had over 8,000 scouts, the jamboree ordered many actives and competitions for the troops to do. There were campsites in which the scouts set up tents and spent the night there. The jamboree is a means of developing a spirit with other people from other nations.   • Order of the Arrow becomes part of the Boy Scout program

    Order of the Arrow becomes part of the Boy Scout program
    Lots of camps began to adopt the Order of the Arrow program. As more camps took part of the Order of the Arrow, it soon then became part of the national Boy Scout program. The Order of the Arrow became part of the national brotherhood of the BSA. The order of the Arrow offers scouts a chance to become part of something bigger in scouts and a chance to be recognized as a part of brotherhood.

  • Philmont High Adventure camp

    Philmont High Adventure camp
    Philmont is the largest high adventure camp. The camp is located in New Mexico and offers a bunch of actives. The camp is a high adventure camp which is offers to older scouts of ages 16 and above. The camp is a high amount of hiking, requiring the scouts to walk miles each day to get to there next activity.   • Scouts help with the war

    Scouts help with the war
    The Boys scouts helped collect materials for the war. They collected scarps of metal, paper, and rubber. By the end of April the scouts had collected over 300,000 tons of wasted paper. The paper was then reused for the war by making posters, paper, and military equipment. They were awarded the Eisenhower Award for the contributions for collecting all that paper.     11/12 men to walk on the moon were scouts

    General Ford was the first eagle scout to become president of the United States. He was the 38th president and was part of the Boy Scouts.     Sea base is one of the high adventure camps that is offered to scouts. At sea base you offered a bunch of actives and options that you can do.     Scouts has been around for 100 years now. During those 100 years scouts has impacted the world, millions of people have taken part of scouting and have done something with the help of scouting.   • Girls can join Cub Scouts

    Girls can join Cub Scouts
    Before girls were unable to join boy scout and there were just only girl troops and only boy troops. Though this changed as 2017 the BSA announced that young girls could be a part of cub scouts.   • Girls have the chance to earn Eagle

    Girls have the chance to earn Eagle
    The boy scout program was changed to become just Scouts BSA. There had been arguments about how girls were not able to be a part of the boy scouts and could not do what they did.
