    n the summer time, both Jem and Scout meet a boy named Dil, he is a boy who likes to go on adventure and he is playful. Later he would impact Scouts life. We found significance in this because, Dil latter developes the Boo Radley incident. Dil introduces them to the mystery of Boo Radley and the children are captivated at the mysteries and entrigued to find out for themselves whether these gossip is the truth or not.

    One day, Scout was returning from school when she spotted chewing gum inside of hole in the tree. She takes the gum home and shows Jem, Jem makes her spit it out. This is important to the plot because, Jem and Scout latter find out that the tree holds many gifts for them, and this is the notion of friendship form someone unknown

    ’’Then why did Cecil say you defended niggers? He made it sound like you were running a still". This shows how Scout is growing up in a scoiety where Negroes are despised and shunned and how most children get the impression that Negroes are bad, even though they are not. This leads to a society full of prejudice.

    One day, however, a mad dog appears, wandering down the main street toward the Finches’ house. Calpurnia calls Atticus Heck brings a rifle and asks Atticus to shoot the animal. To Jem and Scout’s amazement, Atticus does so, hitting the dog with his first shot when Atticus shot the "mad dog" he gained alot more respect from Jem. He was know longer old and tired in his sons eyes.

    Atticus appears and calls Alexandra to the kitchen. There he tells her, Scout, Calpurnia, and Miss Maudie that Tom Robinson attempted to escape and was shot seventeen times. He takes Calpurnia with him to tell the Robinson family of Tom’s death

    Atticus, thinking that Jem killed Bob Ewell, doesn’t want his son protected from the law. Heck corrects him—Ewell fell on his knife; Jem didn’t kill him. Although he knows that Boo is the one who stabbed Ewell.
