U.S. Expansion In The West

  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The U.S. bought land westof the Missippi River From Francefor $15 million.
  • First Organized Wago train on The Oregon Trail

    The Oregon Trail started in Independance, Missuri and ended in Oregon City, Oregon. The journey took 4-6 months by wagon and could even last up to a year.
  • The Great Migration

    Included 1,000 settlers, their livestock, wagons and more. Most people died from acidental gunshots, or getting run over by the wagons.
  • Texas Annexation

    In 1845 the republic of Texas asked to become part of the United States.
  • Seneca Falls Convention

    The First convention for women's rights took place in Seneca Falls, NY. It included Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Loucricia Mott, and Susan B. Anthony.
  • The Gadsen Purchase

    The most important purchase for the United States. $15 million for a small piece of land from mexico, that gave us much natural protection from the south.
