This event made America tkae a step back in time because the the colored people were stripped of their equal rights. This also separated the two regions, North and South, even more. -
Literacy Tests Constitutional

"Grandfather Clause" Unconstitutional
The Grandfather clause lead to more voting rights because it was unconstitutional and most African-American's grandfather were slaves. This just made the required laws decrease, leaving only literacy tests and poll taxes left. -
19th Amendment
This event lead to the more voting rights because it gave women the right to vote. This event gives women more equality compared to men and lead to equal salary pay. -

Making Poll Taaes unconstitutional gave African-Americans one required law to vote. This event then helped ban racial and ethnic discrmination, throught the Voting Rights Act. -
Freedom Summer
This event is important because a Southern state wanted to give African-American voting rights. This attempt lead to the Voting Rights Act. Mississippi changed America. -
Voting Rights Act
The Voting Right cancelled all laws made before towards racial and ethnical discrimination, such as literacy tests, and taking African-Americans voting rights.
