The expedition leaves from Royal Park, Melbourne -

The Party Pauses Here while Burk takes on extra stores, dissmises some of his men, and hires new ones. -
Menindee
Here, Burke divides his party, leaving a large quantity of stores and equipment in the charge of William Wright. He is to wait here intil the extra supplies arrive from Melbourne before heading up to Cooper's Creek. The supplies never arrive. -

Depot
Depot is established at Cooper's Creek to store large quantities of equipment and food. Burke and others spend two weeks traveling north for water. -
Gulf Of Carpentaria
Burke, Wills, John King and Charlie Gray set out for the Gulf of Carpentaria, leaving William Brahe at the depot at Cooper's Creek ( Camp LXV ) with instructions to wait three months. -
Flinders River
The explorers reach swamp flats on the Flinders River, Leaving King and Gray, Burke and Wills attempt to reach the coast and gain a clear sight of the Gulf but fail to do so. -
Cooper's Creek return
The party begin their return to Cooper's Creek. -
Equipment Dumped
Most of the equipment is dumped because it is too heavy for the remaing camels and horses to carry. -
William Gray Dies

Camp LXV
They return to Camp LXV at Cooper's Creek, Brahe's party having departed seven hours earlier that same day. Brahe had waited an extra month for them to return but decided to leave as his men started to become sick with scurvy. -
Follow the Creek
They decide to follow the Creek and head towards the settled distict of South Australia rather then attempt to catch Brahe. -
Brahe returns
Brahe returns to Camp LXV but fails to notice any sign that the explorers had been there. -
Wills Returns
Wills, at Burke's request, returns to Camp LXV to leave a note of their whereabouts. Also buries his feild books. -
Date of death
Burke and Wills Die within a few days of eachother.
