    The Code of Hammurabi was significant because it established rules for everybody to follow so that order was maintained and justice could be reached. King Hammurabi's goal was to make justice obtainable for anyone from rich to poor.

    The Black Death was significant because it killed millions of people. The Black Death also led to the rebirth of Europe, which is known as the Renaissance.

    The Renaissance was significant because people were filled with hope after the Bubonic Plague. People were able to expand their horizons and the Renaissance allowed people to choose their own paths.

    Imperialism was significant because it gave rulers too much power and was dangerous. Leaders would overthrow smaller groups or territories because they had too much power.

    Christopher Columbus was significant because his voyage led to the discovery of "the new world" which was America. This was important because colonizers moved to the Americas and started larger populations
  • Qing Dynasty

    The Qing Dynasty was significant because the territory under the Empire grew which allowed the population to grow. Eventually, there was not enough farmland or jobs for everybody which caused rebellions against the Qing Empire, this led to the decline of the Dynasty.

    The Grandfather Clause was significant because it was put into place to keep African Americans from voting. It also struck some controversy because the legal drinking age was moved to an older age in addition to the voting age being moved up.

    Apartheid was significant because it affected many South African citizens by forcing them out of their homes and into tribes based on ethnicity. These citizens were also forced to use separate facilities than white people. Apartheid was the South African version of Jim Crow laws which legalized segregation.

    Nelson Mandela was significant because he was one of the leading advocates for human rights and was the first president of South Africa. He brought peace to South Africa after it was racially divided.

    Marilyn Monroe was significant because she was an inspiration for many people. Monroe was an actress, model, and singer who became famous for her looks and was an icon in the 1950s to 1960s.

    The Space Race was significant because it was the first time something man made was launched into space. It struck a lot of fear into people because they believed whoever controlled space would win the Cold War.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was significant because it struck fear into many Americans because there were missiles aimed toward the U.S. from Cuba. There was also fear between the U.S. and Soviet governments because neither of them wanted to use their weapons on each other.
