    Willim was born on May 24, 1888. This is interesting cause it's only 2 days before my birthday. His father was from Englad and my great-grandfather was also from England. We have quite a lot in common, actually.

    He spoke frequently to his family about the French. He talked about their reactions to war frequently. He stated that the French showed their gratitude to America by, "...all take off their hats to 'Old Glory', as they see it passing by".

    He was mainly in the 59th Artilery, Coastal Artillery Command (CAC). He was stationed in Fort HAmilton; France. Highest rak was Corpral.

    William James Bean was drafted into the Army on Dacember 15, 1917. The only war he served in was World War 1. He ended his career on May 20, 1919.

    Once home, he wanted to go back to the normal life he had before the war. In 1924, he decided to build a new house of he and his wife. He finished it a year later and decided to sell the house on January 1, 1929 to buy a bigger house.

    His doctor found goiters (enlargement of the thyroid gland) and decided to opperate on them. During the opperation, the knife slipped, cutting his windpipe. He died on the opperating table May 16, 1935.
