  • Battle of Britain

    Battle of Britain
    The Royal Air Force (RAF) defend against the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) at the end of June, its official reconized dates are 10 July - 31 October 1940. 25% of the Royal Air Force (RAF) that defeated the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) were Canadians. British PM Churchill said "Never was so much owned by so many to so few." 3000 Nazi planes were shot down causing them to be not able to invade Britain.
  • Battle of Hong Kong

    Battle of Hong Kong
    Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Inexperince Canadian soldiers were protecting the Hong Kong for the British. Canadian soldiers surrendered to the Japanese on December 25 after 17 days of fighting. The Japanese far superior weapons such as battleshis and aircrafts. 290 Canadians died, 500 wounded. 267 Canadians died in Japanese prison camps. This was considered to be a sneak attack and violation of iternational law as Japan did not declare war against the British Empire.
  • Dieppe Raid

    Dieppe Raid
    The Allied wanted to scare the Germans so they would move their soldiers away from Russia and also find out more about the German coastal defences in France. They decided to have a short at the coastal town of Dieppe. 900 Candians died, 1000 wounded, 1900 were captured became prisonners, and only 2200 safely returned to Britain.
