  • Munich Pact

    In the Munich Pact Britain and France agreed to let German leader occupy the Sudetenland. In return Hitler said he would seek no further territory. Later on he took all of Czechoslovakia.

    One of the first major attacks on the Jews during the Holocausts. Nazis marched through towns hurting Jews in the streets, destroying Jew owned businesses, burning synagogues, and demolished whole apartments.

    Hitler Invades Poland (Which is a big no no) due to the Non-Aggression Pact. So England and France declare war on Germany.

    Since Germany had taken over France in June 1940 England had to evacuate 338,000 troops using all kinds of boats and help from the the public. This starts the Battle of the Atlantic.

    Japanese troops take the French colony of Indochina.
    The United States responds by cutting off oil exports to Japan.

    Hundreds of German warplanes begin bombing London every night for 57 nights in attacks.

    Germany, Italy, and Japan sign a treaty called the Tripartite Pact that makes the three countries allies against England, France, and warning to the United States because they had traded a bunch of destroyers to England in exchange for naval and air bases in the Western Hemisphere.

    Japanese bombers launched a surprise attack on the American naval, air, and ground forces. Countless amount of aircrafts were destroyed along with eight battleships. Killing 2,400 Americans. This caused America to declare war and people were motivated to join the army to help out.

    Japan wanted America's military base at the Island of Midway. But the Americans sank and destroyed many Japanese aircraft carriers and aircrafts along with their highly trained pilots. After this Japan no longer ruled the Pacific.

    Stalin did not want Hitler to seize Stalingrad so he sent a lot of the troops there to defend it. Very bloody and a turning point in war.

    Island Hopping is when American forces would capture some Japanese-help islands and go around the others. For example the Americans fought six months at Guadalcanal. This where the Navajo code-talkers would come in to play.

    The Battle of El Alamein was the North African campaign between the British Empire and the German-Italian army. The British went all out on this battle and used a lot of weapons and soldiers also infantry. Rommel tried to stop the attack but the British were too strong.

    Germany get assaulted by the Soviets in Berlin. Hitler commits suicide and the awful thing they were doing to the Jews were revealed.

    America drops a huge atomic bomb at the city of Hiroshima. A second one was dropped at Nagasaki. Later on more Japanese citizens would die do to radiation poisoning.

    The emperor of Japan announced that the nation would surrender. MacArthur accepted the surrender formally and left. This was the end of World War II.
