    may be able to walke sidways at 16 months. stands on either foot with support.the toddler improves throwing motion, first using whole body, then using just arm movements. for small motor skills the toddler may show hand perference in all activites and may turn the knobs on radio and on the tv

    Vocabulary increases to six to ten words. Uses words instated of gestures to express something he wants for example “up”, or “cookie”. May punch or poke other toddlers for a toy or a food. Hands object to a parent. Likes to chase and be chased. And may use two-word phrases

    Vocabulary starts at about 500 words and increases to 900 or 1000 at this period of time Creates 2 to 3 word sentences including verbs. Continues to feels a strong sense of ownership but May give up toy if offered a substitute. Connects names and uses of objects.
