    https://www.oyez.org/cases/1850-1900/163us537Homer Adolph Plessy took a seat in a "whites only" car of a Louisiana train. He resisted when they asked him to move carts so he was arrested. When Plessy won the case, the 14th amendment was created which made separte but equal facilities.
