    The assasination of Archdule feridnand really was the trigger for World War I. He was killed by a Serbian in the streets of Sarajevo.There was already a lot of tension between many countries and this just started a chain reaction.

    Wilson' 14 Point Plan
    This was a peace plan that was created to help prevent furture wars. The first five pints were factors that led to war. the next set of points, 6-13, dealt with specific territorial issues. Lastly, number 14 was Wilson's most important point and it was what set up the League of Nations. This was an international oganization that guarenteed world peace.

    This treaty dealt with Germany and its lost territories and colonies. The treaty forced Germany to take full responsibility for the war. They aslo had to pay for all of the reparations and it places limits on the size of thier military. The only reason wilson agrees to this treaty is so he can get his peace organization, The League of Nations. On this date, Germany signs the treaty which stes the stages for another war.

America went through a period of time known as the "red Scare' where people feared that communists were behind labor strikes. in 1919 Lenin called for a workers revolution. Plamer wanted to eliminate anyone who he though had radical views and eventually public opinion turned against Palmer because he was deporting too excessively.
