Meeting of the Estates General
The Meeting of the Estates General was a meeting that the king held to discuss the country's debt. It was the first time in 175 years that all three estates were able to gather to discuss, which was the start of the French Revolution. -
Tennis Court Oath
All of the people of the 3rd estate got locked out from the meeting, which sparked the Tennis Court Oath. They gathered at a tennis court and demanded on being apart of the government. They were upset from always being discluded, and made an oath to stick together. -

This event was about a bunch of civilians that got armed with all types of weapons attacked a prison in Paris. This was an act that showed the power of the people and how they were just as powerful as the king of France. -

During the French Revolution, this was a document of human and civil rights. The declaration that was created was inspired by Thomas Jefferson to help people have specific rights. -
March on Versailles
This was supposedly one of the most significant events of the French Revolution. This event is when a group of men raided markets throughout Paris due to the high price and lack of bread. -
Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror was a time where violence was very high due to different political groups. During this time, the guillotine was very popular as 16,594 people were executed using this beheading device. -
The Rise of Napoleon and Creation of an Empire
Napoleon was a military leader and emperor who crowned himself king in 1804 after taking the crown from the Pope. During the French Revolution, his power in the military rose quickly until he was crowned king. -
Napoleon’s Empire Collapses
One of the main events that people believe that led to his downfall was The Invasion of Russia. He sent troops to invade Russia, due to Russia refusing trade from Britain. Russia starved Napoleon's troops, and defeated the French army. -
The Congress of Vienna
The Congress of Vienna was used to call 5 countries together in order and establish and restore order and peace. One of the main things that they accomplished was a balance of power. An effect was the power of France went down.
